TIMSS in Norway
TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) is designed to help countries all over the world improve student learning in mathematics and science.
The project collects educational achievement data at the 4th and 8th grades to provide information about trends in performance over time, together with extensive background information, to address concerns about the quantity, quality, and content of instruction.
Norway participated in TIMSS in 1995 and 2003. Abstracts from the 1995 and 2003 assessments are given below. We will also participate in the next TIMSS study in 2007, and in TIMSS Advanced in 2008.
